Figure 2 also shows the courses of mean Fatigue score through 18 months' follow-up, subgrouped by ME/CFS disease severity (Figure 2E), and by presence/absence of HLA risk alleles (Figure 2F) in which patients with HLA-DQB1*03:03 and/or HLA-C*07:04 reported higher improvements of Fatigue score through follow-up than those negative for these alleles (p = 0.05). The gene discussed is HLA-DQB1; the disease is myalgic encephalomeyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome.
