Our previous work found that, compared with healthy controls, serum levels of IL-33 and its soluble receptor ST2 were elevated in patients infected with chronic hepatitis B. In addition, in vitro experiments showed that IL-33 can reduce the secretion of HBsAg, HBeAg, and HBV DNA of HepG2.2.15, and the effect was in a dose-dependent manner [4]. Here, IL33 is linked to chronic hepatitis B virus infection.
