FOXP3 and inflammatory bowel disease: The mechanism by which these forkhead box P3 (Foxp3)‐positive Treg cells prevent diseases like IBD was investigated by Okoye et al. (2014) who showed that Treg utilizes a mechanism of non‐cell‐autonomous gene silencing via the mediation of miRNA‐containing exosomes to inhibit T‐cell‐modulated diseases.
