In BALB/c mice, a similar outcome was observed; passive transfer of serum from PyE140-immunized mice significantly delayed the onset of parasitemia until day 12 when 1/14 (7%) mice remained uninfected (Fig 4C), whereas mice passively transferred with serum from PyCSP-immunized mice or NYS1 were not protected and there was no delay to parasitemia (Fig 4C).
