In the present study, we treated K562 leukemia cells (which contain a BCR-ABL fusion gene) with one of four treatments: imatinib, an antileukemia drug that targets BCR-ABL; rapamycin, an antitumor drug that does not specifically target BCR-ABL; vinorelbine, another antitumor drug that does not target BCR-ABL; or DMSO. This evidence concerns the gene BCR and leukemia.
