Previous reports have found that STAT3 and NF-κB signal pathways involved in growthand invasion of ovarian cancer cells (30, –33).Evidence has shown that paclitaxel can be regarded as an efficient therapy for humanovarian cancer and the therapy of paclitaxel combined with other drugs provides apotential approach to overcome the resistance of ovarian cancer (34, –36).Pashaei-Asl et al. (17) reported thatcombination of the chemotherapy drugs silibinin and paclitaxel can be more efficientin treatment of ovarian cancer cells. This evidence concerns the gene STAT3 and ovarian carcinoma.
