TNS1 and polycystic kidney disease: Deletion of the focal adhesion molecule Tns1 in mice caused polycystic kidney disease and glomerulosclerosis (Lo, Yu, Degenstein, Chen, & Fuchs, 1997), suggesting a critical role for Tns1 in maintaining intact cell‐matrix junctions in tubular epithelial cells and podocytes (Nishino et al., 2012).
