Patients with AFRS are usually young adults, who are immunocompetent, atopic, and tend to present clinically as CRS with nasal polyposis and eosinophilic mucin which frequently involves all sinuses, but could present as unilateral disease during early stage, and may occasionally present with features of remodeling and expansion of the facial bones such as proptosis and widening of the nasal bridge indicating long standing disease [11]. This evidence concerns the gene MUC5AC and congenital rubella syndrome.
