Previous studies have reported of either a deletion or epigenetic silencing of HIC1 in many types of cancers including colorectal cancer (Bagci et al., 2016[3]), breast cancer (Fujii et al., 1998[15]; Wang et al., 2018[33]), and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (Li et al., 2015[21]). This evidence concerns the gene HIC1 and cancer.
