Compiling together the prognostic powers of TIL-B, MS4A1 mRNA, and CD20 protein levels on patient outcomes across 29 TCGA cancers by Cox-regression analyses, we identified a total of five cancer types in which intratumoral MS4A1 and TIL-B levels were consistently prognostic: TIL-B-high or MS4A1-high were positively prognostic for HNSCC, lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), and cervical squamous cell carcinoma and endocervical adenocarcinoma (CESC), but negatively prognostic for brain lower grade glioma (LGG) and kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP) (Fig. 1d). This evidence concerns the gene MS4A1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
