The clinical signs of colitis in mice receiving CD4+ T cells from MyD88ΔTEC and in the positive controls were manifested by the presence of inflammatory infiltrates in the colon lamina propria, increased bowel wall thickness, presence of abscesses in colon tissue (Fig. 7c), increased spleen weight (Supplementary Fig. 8a, b), and a higher colon weight/length ratio (Fig. 7d and Supplementary Fig. 8a). Here, CD4 is linked to abscess.
