To determine whether elevated serum sCD93 levels were independently associated with the increased risk for DN, we evaluated the covariate-adjusted risk for either a decreased eGFR (<60 mL/min/1.73 m2) or macroalbuminuria (ACR ≥ 300 mg/g) and also, DN, a composite of both, in the high CD93 group compared with the low sCD93 group (Table 5).
