LRP2 and cancer: Its ability to bind SR-B1 [91,108] and/or several core members of the LDLr family of proteins (LDLr, LRP1, LRP1b, LRP2/megalin, VLDL receptor (VLDLr), multiple epidermal growth factor (EGF) repeat containing protein (MEGF7/LRP4), apoE receptor-2 (apoER2)/LRP8)), makes apoE3 an attractive candidate for drug delivery particularly in neurons and cancer cells, which overexpress these receptors [2,81,109,110,111,112,113,114].
