MTOR and prostate carcinoma: Meanwhile, Shih et al. [63] established a BCP model using prostate cancer cells and demonstrated a time-dependent increase in pmTOR and its downstream effector molecule p-p70S6K in the spinal dorsal horn (L4-5) on the ipsilateral side of the carcinogenesis with the development of cancer pain, suggesting an important role of the PI3K–Akt–mTOR signaling pathway in BCP.
