The results showed that HOTAIR is expressed in a variety of cancers, including breast cancer (BRCA), esophageal cancer (ESCA), glioblastoma multiforme (GBM), head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC), and kidney renal clear cell carcinoma (KIRC), etc. HOTAIR expression was significantly higher in the tissues of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD), lung squamous cell carcinoma (LUSC), kidney renal papillary cell carcinoma (KIRP), stomach adenocarcinoma (STAD), BRCA, GBM, and HNSC, compared to that in the control tissues, which supports the oncogenic role of HOTAIR in these cancers (Figure 1). Here, HOTAIR is linked to glioblastoma.
