Even if CD44’s involvement in ovarian cancer as a prognostic factor is still widely debated [30], our observations seem to be in accordance with the results published by Iseki et al. [31], who produced evidence that the loss of CD44 was associated with a reduced efficacy of chemotherapy; this was due to cell detachment from the basal membrane, as well as tumor cell invasion and metastasis. Here, CD44 is linked to ovarian carcinoma.
