However, still little is known for the association of vaspin with atherosclerosis.[16,17] Due to the fact that intima hyperplasia induced by smooth muscle cell migration plays a key role in the development of atherosclerosis[18] as well as in the development of in-stent restenosis[19] the effects of vaspin on smooth muscle cell migration and the occurrence of ISR in correlation to the baseline plasma levels of patients with stable coronary artery disease were of special interest in our study.
