As shown in our data, patients in the high IGF-1 group reported fewer MetS components than those in the low IGF-1 group, but the significance existed only in the univariate model (Univariate P = 0.033; MetS components 1–2 vs. 0: OR 0.70, 95% CI 0.40–1.25, P = 0.229; MetS components ≥ 3 vs. 0: OR 0.57, 95% CI 0.26–1.23, P = 0.153). The gene discussed is IGF1; the disease is metabolic syndrome.
