Considering that bacterial LPS is a major disease-inducing antigen in periodontal diseases, we assessed the role of Nlrp3 and Caspase-1 on the expression of the inflammation- and macrophage phenotype-associated genes Il-10, Il-12 and Tnf-α in primary bone marrow-derived macrophages. The gene discussed is CASP1; the disease is periodontal disorder.
