ERBB2 and gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma: The ToGA trial, a phase III, randomized-controlled trial that included nearly 600 patients with inoperable, locally advanced, recurrent or metastatic adenocarcinoma of the stomach or gastroesophageal junction (GEJ) found that the combination of trastuzumab and chemotherapy (cisplatin plus 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) or capecitabine) had a survival benefit in HER2 positive metastatic gastric or GEJ adenocarcinoma patients.
