In summary, the major novelty in this study is that Vitamin K2 is able to induce autophagic cell death in bladder cancer cells by establishing the metabolic signal axis: PI3K/AKT/HIF-1α dependent glycolysis promotion-metabolic stress-AMPK/ULK1 activation-mTORC1 pathway suppression (Fig. 8G). Here, ULK1 is linked to urinary bladder carcinoma.
