MMP3, a member of the MMP family, has been shown to be highly expressed in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and breast cancer [37–39], and there is evidence that MMP3 overexpression increases vascular density [40]; however, the existence of molecular links between MMP3 and HCC has not been specifically reported. This evidence concerns the gene MMP3 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
