When compared to other FGFR3‐IIIb/IIIc ligands, FGF9 is the most efficient growth factor under our conditions and may act not only on human hepatoma/hepatocarcinoma cell lines but also on unaltered hepatocytes as well as on early stages of hepatocarcinogenesis (Figure S15). The gene discussed is FGFR3; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
