Blocking of 16:0‐to‐18:0 fatty‐acid elongation in mice by Elovl6 knockout was found to inhibit progression of metabolic disorders through alterations of fatty‐acid structures, i.e., increased 16:0 and decreased 18:0‐to‐24:0 levels (Matsuzaka et al, 2007). This evidence concerns the gene ELOVL6 and Other metabolic disease.
