The zeal in studying the role of inflammation in HF has been dampened because of the disappointing results of targeted anticytokines [135], and due to this failure, researchers have continued studies and had an in-depth understanding of the role of inflammation as well as the identification of the current biomarkers such as sST2 (somatostatin receptor subtype 2), galectin-3, and pentraxin-3, which have given a new insight with respect to the diagnosis and prognosis of HF patients. The gene discussed is PTX3; the disease is hydrops fetalis.
