In the group of GDM, the protein levels of NGAL (1.22 ± 0.39 vs. 0.67 ± 0.10, P < 0.001, Figures 3(a)–3(c)) and TNF-α (1.09 (0.86, 1.37) vs. 0.69 (0.53, 0.87), P < 0.001, Figures 3(a), 3(b), and 3(d)) were markedly higher in placental than those in umbilical cord tissues. Here, TNF is linked to gestational diabetes.
