Specifically GBA1, SCARB2, TMEM175, CTSB, GALC, and ATP6V0A1 were found in the last two GWASs (Chang et al., 2017; Nalls et al., 2018) to be associated with an increase in the risk for developing PD, while ATP13A2 is linked to familial PD. This evidence concerns the gene ATP13A2 and Parkinson disease.
