On the contrary, MCD diet markedly decreased PPARα gene expression compared with the control group (0.72±0.13 vs 1, P<0.01) while allantoin treatment significantly increased PPARα in the NASH+allantoin group compared with the NASH group (3.09±0.01vs 0.72±0.13, P<0.01) (Figure 4).
