When focusing on functional pathways derived from the KEGG database (N = 310), 19 functional pathways (6%) showed an MG association in AB thymomas: ten pathways, such as those related to Oxidative phosphorylation, Parkinson disease, and Alzheimer disease, were significantly upregulated, while nine pathways, such as those related to Adherens junction, AGE-RAGE signaling, and TGF-beta signaling, were significantly downregulated in MG+ compared to MG- type AB thymomas. This evidence concerns the gene RENBP and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
