In the context of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC), up-regulated PVT1 could serve as a scaffold for a transcriptional activator, the histone acetyltransferase KAT2A, to activate transcription of NF90. NF90, a RNA-binding protein, has been reported to stabilize many target mRNAs, including HIF1A mRNA. Here, KAT2A is linked to nasopharyngeal carcinoma.
