The aim of the study was (a) to evaluate four single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within the genes coding for catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT), and serotonin (HTRA2) and dopamine (DRD1) receptors in a group of patients with SB or OSA and controls; (b) to evaluate their effect on SB; and (c) to evaluate their effect on the relationship between OSA and SB. Here, HTRA2 is linked to obstructive sleep apnea syndrome.
