The results showed that mRNA levels of genes for fatty acid uptake and transport, such as CD36, FABP3, and FABP4, were significantly increased in trophoblasts from GDM conditions (1.3-, 1.6-, and 1.9-fold, respectively) compared with controls (p < 0.05) (Figure 4a). The gene discussed is FABP3; the disease is gestational diabetes.
