Osimertinib significantly prolonged progression-free survival (PFS) compared with the effects of platinum and pemetrexed (median PFS: 10.1 months versus 4.4 months, p < 0.001), and it has emerged as the standard treatment for patients with NSCLC harboring the EGFR T790M mutation who experience disease progression during or after treatment with EGFR-TKIs. This evidence concerns the gene EGFR and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
