MRC1 and neoplasm: While the overall number of macrophages within the lung did not change, at this acute post-operative time point there was a significant reduction in the percentage of MHCII+/CD206− macrophages (Fig. 2a) and an increase in the percentage of MHCII−/CD206+ macrophages (Fig. 2b), resulting in a marked increase in the ratio of MHCII−/CD206+ to MHCII+/CD206− macrophages (Fig. 2c) in both surgical groups, regardless of whether the primary tumor was removed or left in situ.
