Nonetheless, among the models of tauopathy, the hTau in these mice promotes progressive age-related NFTs, neuronal loss concomitant with the tau accumulation in the forebrain and hippocampus, followed by the substantial neurodegeneration [4, 6, 40–43], reminiscent of tauopathy in patients with FTD-tau [44].
