NDRG2 and neoplasm: Since excessive NDRG2 protein within cancer cells leads to significantly decreased cell proliferation [16, 36, 37] while the increased mRNA expression of NDRG2 can be related to improved prognosis [17, 34], we speculate that NDRG2 might act as a tumor suppressor within ovarian cancer, possibly by regulating ovarian cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis.
