Breast-implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BI-ALCL) is a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma first described by Keech et al. [3] Among several histologic subtypes, the expression of CD30 (CD30-positive) and an absent receptor tyrosine kinase, the anaplastic lymphoma kinase (ALK-negative), are important characteristics of BI-ALCL [4,5]. The gene discussed is ALK; the disease is non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
