The present data suggest that the CD44 rs713330 T/C polymorphism may change the CD44 protein subtype expression to be associated with tumor size and invasion in male patients with lung adenocarcinoma, particularly those with wild-type EGFR. Furthermore, in the subgroup of male patients harboring EGFR wild-type, the rs10836347 C/T polymorphism was also associated with tumor size and invasion. The gene discussed is CD44; the disease is lung adenocarcinoma.
