ERBB2 and breast cancer: Besides, regarding AR positivity in BC subtypes, immunohistochemistry (IHC)-surrogate subtype classification indicates that ER-positive/HER2-negative (ER+/HER2-) cancers express AR more frequently (91%) than ER+/HER2-positive (HER2+) (68%), ER-negative (ER-)/HER2+ (59%) and triple negative BC (TNBC) (32%); however assignment of intrinsic molecular subtypes by gene expression analysis, reveals that AR levels are similar in luminal A, B and HER2-enriched, but lowers in Basal-like subtypes [6,7].
