SQSTM1 and leukemia: All of the SQSTM1-NUP214 mice eventually developed acute myeloid leukemias between 150- and 350-days post transplantation, while none of the SQSTM1-NUP214FGmut mice displayed signs of leukemia such as enlarged spleen or presence of GFP-expressing cells in the peripheral blood or bone marrow at the time of death (Fig 2E).
