The prognosis for metastatic castration‐resistant prostate cancer is unfavorable, and although Poly(ADP)‐ribose polymerase‐1 (PARP‐1) inhibitors have shown efficacy in the treatment of androgen‐receptor dependent malignancies, the limited number of options present obstacles for patients that are not responsive to these treatments. This evidence concerns the gene PARP1 and prostate carcinoma.
