It is reported that an important event in the initiation of cancer metastasis is EMT, a process in which epithelial cells lose apical-basal polarity and gain a mesenchymal phenotype, through the increase of mesenchymal markers as Vimentin and Fibronectin, and decrease of epithelial ones, in this case E-Cadherin [26]. This evidence concerns the gene FN1 and cancer.
