It has been hypothesized [44] that uveitis may occur in isolated patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) treated with anti-TNF-α, and the dosages could control the joint manifestations but are inadequate to control uveitis [17] or that a non-detected infectious cause may explain uveitis in some anti-TNF-treated patients [45]. The gene discussed is TNF; the disease is uveitis.
