CD274 and neoplasm: The immunohistochemical expression of programmed death-1 (PD-1)–programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) in tumour cells is used as a predictor of a patient’s response to a single therapy of IC blockade.1 However, an adequate response can be observed in only 30.3–39.3% of NSCLC, in spite of the high expressions of PD-L1.2 Therefore, it is necessary to find new predictors or to provide new strategies using this therapy.
