In another study the lipid content of gastric cancer tissue was compared to that of adjacent non-neoplastic mucosa by imaging mass spectrometry, and Uehara, T et al. 26 demonstrated that the imbalance between LPC and PC due to overexpression of lysophosphatidylcholine acyltransferase 1 (LPCAT1) is associated with the development of gastric cancer. This evidence concerns the gene LPCAT1 and gastric cancer.
