What is different to the classical HMGB1/RAGE/autophagy pathway, however, is that we verified hepatocellular carcinoma cells resistance to cisplatin treatment by HMGB1 via HMGB1/NF-κB/HIF-1α feedback loop; HMGB1 not only plays the role of cisplatin resistance through this positive feedback loop, but also promotes its high expression in tumor cells.
