CRK and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease: While ELAVL1, EGFR, and MAPK1 are known from cancers, all four genes have been linked to neurological functioning: CRK is known from the Miller-Dieker Lissencephaly (‘smooth brain’) syndrome, characterized by abnormal brain structures, intellectual disability and seizures, while MAPK1 has been linked to Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) (Lanke et al., 2018) and Retrograde Amnesia, which is defined as memory loss often following an injury or a disease.
