Kawasaki et al.'s group reported that Siglec7 on NK cells bound to one of the major gangliosides expressed on the surface of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) cells: the disialosyl globopentaosylceramide (DSGb5), which lead to a reduction of NK cell cytotoxicity towards RCC cells. This evidence concerns the gene SIGLEC7 and renal cell carcinoma.
