Wu et al. [67] found that Nrf2 is highly expressed in A2780/DDP and COC1/DDP cisplatin-resistant ovarian cancer cells; inhibition of Nrf2 translocation into the nucleus significantly increased the gene expression of transferrin SLC401, a known iron exporter, which reversed the cisplatin resistance of ovarian cells caused by iron overload. This evidence concerns the gene NFE2L2 and ovarian cancer.
