Over-expression of BCL6 in both LN18 and U87-MG cells specifically led to the suppression of transcription driven by a BCL6 responsive element (pBCL64-tk-LUC) [30] (Fig 5C), confirming that glioblastoma cells are indeed competent for transcriptional repression by BCL6. The gene discussed is BCL6; the disease is glioblastoma.
